Concise Answers
Also known as Answer-first paragraphs · Inverted pyramid answers
Leading each question-style heading with a direct 1-3 sentence answer before any elaboration, so the core response stands alone.
What it is
An answer-first writing pattern where the sentence immediately under a question heading fully answers it, then deeper context, examples, or caveats follow. The opening lines work as a standalone, quotable unit.
Why it matters
Answer engines and featured snippets prefer short, self-contained passages they can lift verbatim; burying the answer after setup makes a page harder to cite. A crisp lead answer also improves readability and reduces bounce in traditional search.
How to verify
Read the first sentence after each question heading and check whether it answers the question without needing the rest of the section. If a reader must scroll or read several paragraphs to get the point, it is not concise enough.
How to fix
Rewrite each section so the answer comes first in 1-3 sentences, then add detail below. Remove throat-clearing intros and move qualifiers and examples after the direct statement.
